Shamrockin Run – Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Leprechaun Kids Fun Run
Date: Sunday, March 9, 2025
Time: 7:15 am – 12:30 pm
Where: Start & Finish – Restaurant & Oyster Bar – 7900 Lakeshore Drive, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124
Runners will leave the Blue Crab Restaurant and head east along Lakeshore Drive on this completely closed course. The Half Marathon, 10K and 5K will start together with the 5K making the first U-Turn along the course and return to the Blue Crab. Further down the course, 10K Runners will make the U-Turn and return to the Blue Crab to join in the post race festivities. Half Marathon runners will continue down the course heading east making their U-turn just east of the University of New Orleans Arena along Lakeshore Drive.
Race Management will have aid and medical stations at every 1.5 miles along the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon event. Each aid station on course will offer restrooms, water, ice, and Gatorade.
Starting Procedure
The Shamrockin’ Run New Orleans will have a wave start system in place to start the event. Runners will self seed themselves into groups according to your estimated finish time. The Half Marathon will start 10 minutes before the 10 and 5K group group.
Reminder to Runners: The chip-timing system will not record a starting time for a runner until that runner has crossed the timing mats at the start line. Time spent waiting to cross the start line is NOT included in the scored finish time for a runner.
Start / Finish Location
The Start & Finish line for the Shamrockin’ Run New Orleans will just outside of the Blue Crab Restaurant & Oyster Bar. Parking is located along Lakeshore Drive, and in the surrounding community!
Race Courses
To help you get to that green finish line, the Shamrockin’ Run New Orleans will have Bagpipes at 3 Locations along the race course.
Race Management will have aid and medical stations at every 2 miles along the course complete with Water, Gatorade Thirst Quencher, Ice and Portable Restrooms. Half Marathon Athletes will have access to GU Energy Gels on Course near Mile 5 and Mile 8.
Finish Location
The finish line for the Shamrockin’ Run New Orleans will in the same location as the start. Athletes will cross the finish line at the same location as the start from the Blue Crab.
All finishers will receive a Finisher Medal!
